Obama Backs Easing State Health Law Mandates

It looks like President Obama may be backing down from some of his previously stringent views on healthcare.  He is saying now that he is willing to back down from the toughest part of his healthcare reform bill which would be allowing the individual states the right to obtain waivers from people having to buy insurance regardless of situation.  It honestly seems to me that Obama and the Democrats are growing concerned about future elections.  This past November was not a banner year for the Democratic ticket so perhaps easing off on some of the strictest parts of his healthcare platform is a way of appeasing the public and their constituents?  http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/01/us/politics/01health.html?_r=1&ref=politics
